Profile

I teach at the Department of Classics and Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations at the University of Chicago since 2014. Before that I worked at CSIC, Madrid for 14 years. Even before that I enjoyed years of learning and building my philological fortress in Germany, Sweden and the UK.

My background is in Classics and my admiration for the Greek Language is my motor. I discovered papyri many years ago through the teachings of Prof. Maehler in London. From that moment on I dedicate my life and my sight to scraps of papyrus and sherds of pottery, the messages they convey and everything about them.

Both my grandfather and my mother were in Classics, so I am participating in the family business. I have had fabulous masters, and wonderful students. I am very lucky.
